Sorry...War of the Worlds not WOW.

Speaking of Hiro from "Heroes", here's another couple of reasons to love the guy besides the fact that he mentions Star Trek and X-men in conversations:

The actor is actually an ILM alumnus who was a digital artist on World of Warcraft as well as Revenge of the Sith!

Check out his IMDB page!
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1199811/

Posted by: Peter Posted on: Tuesday September 26 2006 12:20pm
Of course it was "YATTA!"...that's why this is so great. Hiro, the Japanese guy, shouted "I did it" - "Yatta!".

Posted by: adam Posted on: Tuesday September 26 2006 2:06am
Just out of curiosity, in the promos for Hero, was the Japanese guy yelling "Yataaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!"?

P.S. Anyone else notice the Chinese kids singing kareoke to Backstreet Boys?

I'm excited, it appears that Al's got his groove back big time. I like this one even more.

Posted by: Peter Posted on: Wednesday September 20 2006 4:16pm
Actually, eygx0r, Ghyslain (a.k.a. the Star Wars kid) is the most depressed kid ever. After the footage of him leaked out to the internet he became severely depressed and was placed on suicide watch. According to his parents, the incident has caused him "a great deal of psychological trauma" that apparently decimated any sense of self worth and forced him to withdraw from all forms of social interaction. That reference on Weird Al is probably only exacerbating conditions. Poor kid...how would you like your most embarassing moment repeatedly shown around the world?

Posted by: eygx0r Posted on: Tuesday September 19 2006 11:32pm
I like Picard.

Plus, man, that star wars kid has to be the happiest guy ever -- being immortalized by Weird Al in a video like that's gotta be pure gold.

WORSE! WORSE! Lamers may upload crappy warez if we don't secure our boards! And, of course, how will we keep the cops out without a disclaimer that says, "If you're a cop, leave!"?

THEN! THEN THERE WILL BE LAME PARTIES AT BAY BEACH WHERE PACO SUAVE WILL GET DRUNK ON ZIMA! ZIMA!!!!!

I miss BBSing.

Posted by: CrowScape Posted on: Friday September 15 2006 7:21pm
But if we don't secure out boards, then we can't very well walk on our decks without them collapsing. Sure, if we nail the boards down then we won't have as much freedom in the future to redesign to make room for the hot tub, but I'm sick and tired of having to rebuild the thing every time we let the dogs out to play.

have fun with this
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines06/0913-02.htm

GOP Newt wants to run on a campaign to declare wwiii, no, its not a mispelling of nintendos new console, it is wtf mf ww3 that he wants to start.

on one had the plan is clearly imperialistic, and on the other hand it is a katn plan to end all plans

the secure our boards part of the plan scares me, because if secure our boards, they mean take away our freedoms, well then i might have to do a lot more than vote this time around.

Oh, and here I thought you had striped some electrons off of Pos atoms and had carefully readied the resulting ions on your chair.

You can see my confusion. The ass thing makes a whole lot more sense. Well, not really. Plus Posions have the advantage of sounding science-fictiony.

It would have to be a Dell or Mac Book for it to burst into flames. Which BTW is still very funny.

This 'laptop' isn't powered off of batteries or anything...right? I think you might need to pull the batteries for this from some kind of hybrid car.

Make an XBox 360 laptop, which if it doesn't burst into flames, wouldn't that be like the fastest laptop around by a long shot?

I have a 17in CRT (bought in '98) and an AGP GeForceFX 5700 that I'd love to offload.

Posted by: B_W Posted on: Thursday September 7 2006 11:59am
Hey, anyone got an AGP video card they're looking to get rid of? Preferably one with a dual head so I can do 2 monitors. Anyone also have an old 17 inch CRT they are looking to dump?

Thanks!

Crow,
Now if you want to see Star Wars "and a whole lot more" come down to DC. (and I don't mean the 'District of Columbia') Herr G and I turned a corner once and saw about 20 women in princess slave girl outfits draped over a half scale Jabba the Hutt. And that was just down a random hallway.

Posted by: B_W Posted on: Thursday September 7 2006 9:08am
Pssh, that's old news. I've been seeing that for years at the cons. I think most of those pictures are from GenCon. (perhaps 2005) (I recognize the restaurant in the background...bad service)

B_W,

Call in from Captain Tightpants? But I never called in....oh...you mean Nathan Fillion. That's great that you got a chance to attend DragonCon! Don't forget to pick up a free gift card from the Sideshow Toys booth! Glad to hear you're having a fun time! I should warn you, while you have been away, your cats have been very naughty. Last night they went cruising around Cudahy and....well...let's just say there were hostage negotiations...it didn't end pretty. Did you teach Cat-tano how to fire an AK-47? Good aim for a feline.

What Up.

[from Dragon*Con]

p.s. drunk

Posted by: B_W Posted on: Saturday September 2 2006 9:45pm
Live from DragonCon
This Con is NUTS. NUTS NUTS NUTS. Unfortunately I haven't taken many pictures, mostly because I have been overwhelmed the entire time. The action's been pretty juicy. Very closed in though. So far I have seen panels with George Takei, B5 characters, Summer and Allen from Firely (with a call in from Nathan 'Captain Tightpants'), Mythbusters, and I got to see a very frisky Anthony Daniels look very closely at women's breasts at a costume contest.
Right now I am sitting in a comedy music show & Brian is about to perform!

So far the times are fast, and wild here. Just don't be claustrophobic, because the ceilings here are very, very LOW!

However, I will say this, there is a liquor store kitty corner to the main hotel, and you can drink openly anywhere you go. Yes. Oh yes.
